Headlock Vintage Clothing

Headlock Story

Headlock started way back in 2009, Founded by Tom, With an interest in clothes, charity shops and car boot sales it became something to do rather than going to Uni, he started to sell the things he could find over eBay.

A few months into doing this a van was purchased and he hit the road travelling around the UK trading at vintage fairs and markets, meeting many characters and friends along the way. In about 2012 we contacted Leeds University, They let us have an almost weekly stall within the SU for just £20! Following the success of this Tom and his mate Sam jumped in the van and travelled to Nottingham Trent and Durham, Both of those went pretty well so we were able to grow our network of SU venues to the point of them contacting us to come visit them. Now we've managed to grow our University sales travelling as far as Cardiff and Edinburgh and a every where in between, in term time we are doing on average 4 events per week, great stock every time and always great deals.

Our first festival stall was at Kendal Calling in 2011 where you can still find us every year, We have traded at a big range of festivals from Creamfields (Interesting weekend) to End of the Road (highlight of the year) and a load more in between. Before using a till system you see today it was often asked who the hell is working here due our laid back approach to the sale pitch.

Online wise were still doing ok selling clothes over eBay and Asos Marketplace sat in a cold warehouse photographing students and friends modelling the stock. From many highs and lows along the way we now have the slick smart website you see today listing new stock every week, Excellent reviews and top quality product photography.

Its been a great pleasure to team up with our friends at Carecent in York for the last few years donating stock we can't sell, it make such a difference to the homeless and socially excluded people of our home city. We've also been fundraisers for the RSPB selling pin badges and getting donations. And numerous student charities and fundraisers we are usually always happy to help out with.

We are so grateful to every customer who has bought from us over the last nearly 15 years its been a pleasure to be able to keep selling clothes and having fun along the way. Thanks to all the staff, students and characters who've carried sacks of clothes around along the way. Enjoy the photos.
